Nah I like discovering stuff like this but I I just want to do this as a hobby

I'm looking forward to this. I do need to get a better wifi-module. The Wake On LAN works without any extra addition meaning I can turn it on from my ROG Ally or laptop.

Sunshine is pretty spotty but streaming using Valve-provided mechanism is perfect.

Enshrouded runs at a solid 40FPS. Which is honestly ok given everything that is being rendered. However, here's the thing as always they cheaped out on a good wifi module so the bluetooth is pretty spotty.
(fps dropping due to internal recording)

There are some caveats which are very obvious:
Recording adds more stress so FPS will drop. At a normal/standard graphic setting

Yea this one went for $584 and for the specs + current economy it felt like a no brainer. I did want an AMD AI chip and was quite hellbent on it... I'm not sure if you know @matttherobotguy.bsky.social but for whatever reason AMD AI chips are pretty good at transcoding? I'm still researching

I just set it up with Bazzite and now switched to Sunshine with a HDMI EDID I also have a displayport EDID as backup (so i can always stream from it). Now it is time to transfer data and give it a spin soon 🙏

You know it! Honestly, I find the whole subject that a smol machine can deliver the same game experience at like 500-600 watts less. It always leaves me scratching my head. Valve's approach to focus on the OS versus hardware imho is better.

True purpose? Can it run all the games I play with less than 100w? If so, how does it compare with a desktop. Document findings and just do my longform post. This is no different than the old Steam Machines. Technology has evolved tho cc @retrogradesignal.bsky.social @matttherobotguy.bsky.social

Thanks, I think my workflow is a bit different so at the moment like I don't know how to make it fit. Ultimately, I'll probably end up writing some sort of application to do some extra things but it is all in the freetime/hobby whenever I get in the mood

Sadly Japanese devs in general are bad when it comes to PC Development and online features. It is improving but ugh. I’m looking at you Everybody’s golf hotshots and fantasy life

That’s sort of insane why does it needs constant checking? I think not sure which but one of the monster hunter games on pc also did something similar which a mod ended fixing something about too many CRC checks
