Louise had an excellent Louise Day, the yearly celebration where everyone comes to her house and looks at Louise. Also she gets turkey on Louise Day

A spooky and desolate November morning, but Mu wants to go adventuring
November 26, 2025 at 1:19 PM
Oh wait, I know I'm coming into this late but I haven't seen this one yet: some gray elves are "faeries" (that exact spelling) in the AD&D Monster Manual (1977)

Now checking if someone can have a blackboard, and the Wikipedia article is talking about the, what, the "Conic Sections Rebellion"?

I feel silly talking about one of the most famous comics ever, but I'm toward the end of my reread now. Horrific in a way most "horror" really isn't, in any medium. Depravity, despair, false hope. The abject.

The counterpoint to all this is that society is now and always has been essentially unnavigable. Perhaps more so now than in the '20s or the '90s. We're barely hanging on as all the money in the world is thrown into a giant scam hole and we helplessly watch our masters rape and murder everything.

The noble New England grinder 'n' pizza shop, run by recent immigrants who are almost, but not quite, Italian, produces some of the finest cuisine you can eat out of a red-and-white-checked paper napkin

#1 danger to my well-being is my ability to make a buffalo chicken wrap at home in ten minutes
November 18, 2025 at 4:52 PM
Hm.
November 18, 2025 at 12:26 AM
My ability to make a chicken parm sandwich in the style of a New England pizza 'n' grinders shack with 3.5 stars on Yelp is not good for my health

I collect weird jobs in case I ever want to run a Warhammer Fantasy game and make a mess of it, and "song-plugger" is a good one

Earth! Air! Fire! Water! Heart!
November 15, 2025 at 3:39 PM
No, no, but look, it's about, okay, have you read Lud Heat?

Rereading From Hell. Fitting for the national mood, it seems. I'm telling Mu the basic outline of the plot but I fear the details are going over his head.

Like, real books? Or fake picture-books for babies?
November 14, 2025 at 8:07 PM
"explain Christianity using the Nostromo's Semiotic Standard" feels like a late-period Philip K Dick story
November 14, 2025 at 3:13 PM
It's a raw, windy November day and my cat screamed and screamed until he got to smell this fallen branch. Now he's happy.

Slacker's credits also has the best list of classes waiting to be adapted into a catastrophically unwieldy and ill-considered Powered by the Apocalypse game
