My true nature stands REVEALED!

Remember that time when I was going to make a book called Monsters of North America with made up monsters but one of the monsters I made up was accidentally kinda naughty, because the clever (I thought) "inflancabra" made my friend from Mexico say-in an incredulous voice-"GOAT BLOWER"?

Yup, I typed it. Anyway, I was thinking I was going to call it the Salty Beast, but that sounded too something... So I called it the Beast of the Great Salt Lake. Which oddly, sounded NOT too something? I dunno. I just did the assault joke. Because assault is always funny? So this is the Inflancabra, which I totally thought should be the "Goat Inflator" in English, a little grey monster with a spikey porcupine quill type back. It has big red eyes, clawed hands with two fingers and a thumb, digitigrade legs, and a winning disposition, In one little picture you have an inflancabra embracing a goat, its mouth around the goat's muzzle, and then the next pic is a goat that's inflated like a balloon. I was going to make a joke in the book about how you can tell there's an inflancabra in the town because after a few days main street looks like a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade? But now, nearly 20 years later, I realize how many this is probably just a page of unintentional connections to different people's fetishes? Kinda? Sometime I hate the internet.

Drove to Idaho in the foggiest fog this morning, to see my nephew's homecoming. While I was at my sister's house she pulled out the wedding cake toppers I had sculpted for her and her hubby, based off of the monsters I always drew fir her.

I forgot how I thought they were kinda cute.

I wrote this after a long discussion with my mama about the isolation and ostracism she felt in our neighborhood as an immigrant, and the fears she had for me, her effeminate and ostensibly male child, and the guilt she felt for policing my gender so strongly as I was growing up.
I speak girl with an accent. Once, very long ago, it was as natural as breathing, But the way I looked meant it was safer To forget To learn a new way to talk To walk To sit To be All of that made it possible for me to get here To survive until I could live again And I am so thankful for the privilege That so many others like me never had But now I speak girl with an accent And accents are not always welcome In America

A grey Ford Festiva with a cracked rear passenger window, bullet holes, ad a touch of the ol' mud near the tire wells. On the roof of the sits a trans lady and a yawning dromaeosaur. On the trans woman is a raven. It's all very complicated, and the hierarchy is unfathomable. The first car I ever had was a Ford Festiva. It cost me $65 and that was me talking the owner into upping their price because I knew they had just put new tires on it. We called it the Baka Box. I loved it. AND I LOVE YOU! YAY!

What perfect album came out the year you turned 16?

I wrote an entire urban fantasy novel based on this album. It had a trans protagonist, so my profoundly closeted butt never showed it to anyone.

It started with three musical themes on track 7, and exploded from there.

Still an all-time fave.

The top of the sky is near night-dark, broken up by long, thin white clouds stretching across the horizon. It transitions to sky blue, then pure clouds, before we bump into a green and brown plane. Cut into this picture is another rectangular image. A stunningly handsome white guy stands in profile, only visible from his forehead down to about his bicep. Two more men stand slightly in the distance, visible from the waist up. The sky and mountains behind them are lovely, the whole image in a green sepia. A-ha and Scoundtel Days are written in pencil on the white border above both images.

Sword ladies !!

TIL I have been mispronouncing Mike Mignola's name wrong for 40 years, ever since I fell in love with his art in the Rocket Raccoon mini series 40 years ago.

He actually pronounces it to rhyme with "Bike".

Also? The first Rocket Raccoon series is the best Rocket Raccoon in the multiverse.

I was very kindly offered a chance to do some art for a podcast, but because my brain does what my brain does I didn't at all communicate my intent to cover a particular episode, so by the time I had drawn what I'd drawn, someone else had claimed that episode.
You snooze, you lose.
I snost and lost.
This is a very silly take I had on Mechagodzilla, a giant robut 'Zilla who started his rampage on the world disguised as Godzilla. As he took more damage, and more of his Godzilla skin was torn away, his hideous robut form shocked the world with its shocking secret shock! And then James Cameron ripped off this cool reveal 10 years later with his Terminator movie. (HOLY HECK! There's only TEN years between Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla and Terminator! That's wild!) So, of course, I had to draw Mechagodzilla in the terminator jacket and wth the dark shades. It didn't turn out that great, but I drew it, so I'mma post it! Narrator: And that's what she did!

Look. Listen. I traded 4 Godzillas for this, the Toynami Masterpiece VFA-6I Veritech Alpha Fighter. It is a green and white giant fighting robut that turns into a green and white aeroplane and I love it so much. This particular Alpha was piloted by the genderqueer pop star/resistance fighter Lancer/Yellow Dancer, who was my idol. I am feeling all the feels right now. It is very scary to transform because I am so frightened I will break it, and it is very clear the hands of the little cutie are not long for this world, if they get overused. But it looks so cute! All of the decals, and the instructions of where they go. I am going to mess this up so badly.
