3. grow a community of practice in freshwater health and freshwater mussel conservation across AZA
4. develop and activate a resilient coordinated community to advance the conservation education and communication about freshwater mussels and healthy freshwater systems across AZA.

Over the next 3 years - we will:
1. develop a resilient network of organizations and individuals to advance the conservation of North American freshwater mussels
2. build the capacity of AZA partners to assess the conservation status and extinction risk of freshwater mussels (to be continued...)

Many freshwater migratory fishes are culturally of huge significance, and vitally important to food security, identity, and livelihoods of Indigenous and rural communities around the world. But they are also in trouble. This group of wonderful people wants to change this!

We had a wonderful time at the migratory fish workshop hosted by our colleagues from University of Nevada Reno, right on the shores of Lake Tahoe. We discussed migratory fish, databases, CMS context and Swimways. Watch this space for some cool outputs!

Sometimes, it's difficult to keep focused on your contribution to online panel discussions when you also have this little weirdo in your line of sight.... 🤣😂

Great 1st partnership meeting, @shoalorg.bsky.social, very inspirational for me, yet tiring for the dog!
