You can't scratch you head about why Latinos are turning from mainstream media when we are so terribly underrepresented in our local newspaper. Latinos make up over 44% of Houston, and aren't even an afterthought. Latest example from @houstonchronicle.com 's Best Day Ever series. Smh.

Sent some small conchas to school with my youngest for the school potluck and it makes me so emotional. My mom used to be shamed when she took tacos to school. But the joy and pride my kid had in his contribution gives me hope amid all the worry and tears. Conchas for those who don't know:
