While he had cancer, the whole family decided to make sure everyday for him was special. He lived long enough to see me graduate from highschool, meeting his first great-granddaughter, then his second great-granddaughter.

When he came back, he went to see my Nanny, and gave her a kiss. They got married after that on October 30, had 2 daughters, my aunt and my mom.

I didn't know til after his diagnosis that he was drafted into the Vietnam war, and was sent over to Germany. That he was sent back home cuz he was the only man of the house. He had a mother and sister.

For as long as I can remember, he was a hard working man, but he would make time for me. He always wore a hat with the Pepsi brand logo on the front, would smoke cigarettes.

There was this one time I remember he took me out fishing once, and he let me ride in the trunk of his truck, I can feel the wind at the back of my head as he was driving us back to their house.

I often remember when I was a kid, I would feel sleepy and my papa would pick me up, and he would carry and tuck me into bed. And sometimes I would sleep in between him and my nanny, and it made me feel safe.

We made it to the airport real early, hopefully we can Germany our permanent home in the near future. Gonna have to compare pros and cons once I get home, plus we need to think about housing as well. Somewhere in Germany that more into the forest
