My Tern HSD gets a ton of use (just passed 15,000 miles and closing in on 25,000 km) on all sorts of trips that I'm happy not to do by car. About 13,000 of the miles are on the same Gates belt and Enviolo hub (I swapped out the 11-speed drivetrain). I like it (except for the shifter)

Cyclovia Encinitas was wonderful!

Here, meaning North County San Diego. I've tried to report clusters of dead birds before and the resources seem to be lacking for useful, timely action.
There was also a juvenile sea lion on the beach (unusual, but not seemingly distressed). Kids and dogs too close though.

Apparently the nickel is even worse than I thought. The cost per nickel in 2024 is $13.78 (according to NBC reporting):
