My dog Rudy, an English cream Golden Retriever, when he was a little older than two months. He lies in a soft grey dog bed, stretch out along the groove in the back and still not covering the full width of it. Rudy as an eight month old, curled up tight in the same soft grey bed to fit in it.

My baby is FIFTEEN today!

My Spotify Wrapped summary, listing my top artists as Dog Park Dissidents, Fitz and The Tantrums, Sub-Radio, Middle-Aged Queers, and Tilly Birds, and my top sons as Bad Dog (by Dog Park Dissidents), Like a Dead Man (by Tilly Birds), Atlas’s Suicide (by Dog Park Dissidents), Psycho Star (by King Tuff), and Trans Starship Feminist BDSM Paradise (by Dog Park Dissidents). Unsurprisingly, the image at top is a band shot of Dog Park Dissidents. I saw my top bands all at shows this year, except Tilly Birds, who are Thai. A Spotify Wrapped “evolution” page saying that my June was “Mcbling Strut Pop” with artists like Demi Lovato, Sam Smith, and Chappell Roan. I had not listened to Chappell Roan in June. I was focused entirely on queer artists, since it was Pride. A Spotify Wrapped “evolution” page saying that my July was “Serotonin Beach Indie” with artists like Fitz and The Tantrums, FITZ, and Two Door Cinema Club. I am not sure I listened to any Two Door Cinema Club in July; I have maybe listened to one full song by them. I saw Fitz and The Tantrums in concert in July. A Spotify Wrapped “evolution” page saying that my October was “Otherkin Happy Rock Punk” with artists like Dog Park Dissidents, Middle-Aged Queers, and Green Day. I did listen to all of those, though significantly less Green Day, as I saw Dog Park Dissidents in concert with Middle-Aged Queers opening for them. It is not “Otherkin” punk, though; if anything, it’s furry punk. There’s a difference, Spotify!

The old Android-style green heart emoji before it was a green heart: instead it is a softer looking heart with an orange to pink gradient reminiscent of a blush and three white droplets made to look like sweat. About a decade ago this was “corrected” to be the green heart other emoji systems used.

my zucchini lasagna turned out kinda messy
A full dish of homemade lasagna, with cheese right up to the edge that’s browned (perhaps a little too much) on top and dollops of sauce. The same lasagna cut into, with meat and cheese spilling out into the dish sideways because I am a mess.
