Logos should not include detailed illustrations. Most major brands that started with elaborate logos have simplified them over time. I mean, who cares, but that was a bad logo. I would have done a bit more to the shape to reference the concept of a barrel.

I mean, it would be better to win that battle right now and have the rainbow crosswalk restored immediately. But this regime is destroying so much, so quickly it would be great to have an augmented reality app that could help us remember and track it all, and to see everything in place, how it was.

Someone please make an augmented reality app that allows visitors to Smithsonian and other sites to see virtual versions of exhibits and placards removed by the regime. It could also provide images of empty spaces where Confederate monuments are.

The national failure to stand up for students protesting the genocide in Gaza has eroded students’ rights to protest at all. These NCCU students were exposing conditions—including black mold—in their own dorms, and they are still being called outside agitators & subjected to beating and arrest.
Students & faculty in North Carolina getting arrested for protesting their abhorrent living conditions. So much for free speech and the right to assemble.
![According to the student leaders I spoke with, the arrestees were all affiliated with NCCU. They told me that *one of the people detained was not currently enrolled but was enrolled last semester and is still active with campus activities. They said others were students and a faculty member.

These are young people speaking out on their own campus about their living conditions on said campus.
Even if you do not believe the students — which you should, I do believe them, I was VERY impressed with them — tell me why a faculty member would be arrested. Make that make sense.
They were taken to the jail to go before the magistrate. After several long hours at the jail, they were released with a promise to appear in court.
None of their supporters were allowed into the [public, taxpayer-funded] waiting room to sit, warm up, or use the restrooms.
The “Durham 5”’s charges include:
— 2nd degree trespassing (ON THEIR OWN CAMPUS)
— resisting a public officer
— failure to disperse
I believe our Durham community, and all people of good will, should stand with these young people. The arrests were completely unwarranted.

If a low U.S. birth rate (as in pop. growth) was an actual problem, increasing legal paths to immigration and supporting immigrants would be a logical solution. But of course that’s not what he’s worried about. Make him say “white babies” whenever he spreads this shit.

Adolescence is a powerful story, creatively told, with stellar performances. Still, I was surprised by how devastated & heartsick I felt. Then I realized—those feelings were just me returning to my new real-life baseline. Not exactly “escapist” but the show’s artistry distracted me from the news.
