One very big problem we have here in #Gaza: garbage is everywhere, mountains of it, rotting, burning, and the smell of smoke is pervasive. This is a major health hazard.

We, the Shubeir family, are from the Palestinian town of Hamama, 25 kilometres North of #Gaza, now completely erased by Israel after the #Nakba. And we are famous for selling and fishing.

Also, my aunt's husband, Youssef, from the Miqdad family, lived in southern Gaza, specifically in the city of Rafah. He was a well-known fishmonger. The Miqdad family of Rafah were generally known for their fishmongering.

My grandfather was a very kind and well-known man in the Gaza seaport named Atiya Ibrahim Shubeir. In 1961, he was a skilled fisherman who would catch fish and then sell them in the morning in the famous markets of the Gaza Strip, such as the Firas Market, the Zawiya Market, and the Old City Market.
