The arrests of Berlin Jews, beginning on February 27, 1943, marked an escalation in the efforts made to remove these Jewish family members from their spouses and families.[12] The 1,800 men were so-called "privileged Jews", a category exempt from deportation and other anti-Jewish measures by reason of being married to non-Jewish spouses, or employment as officials of the Reichsvereinigung der Juden in Deutschland, the Jewish organization officially recognized by the German government for the purpose of controlling the Jewish population.[13] According to Mordecai Paldiel, Holocaust survivor and former Director of the Department of the Righteous among the Nations program at Yad Vashem, Israel's Holocaust authority, "The Rosenstrasse protest embraced hundreds of women at the site where most of the Jewish men were interned (in a building which previously served the Jewish community in Berlin), before being processed to the camps... who gathered every day, and facing armed Schutzstaffel (SS) soldiers, shouted: "Give us our husbands back!""[14] Despite the media blackout ordered by Goebbels, it was impossible for the state to arrest such a large number of people in Berlin over the course of one day without people noticing. Hundreds of women gathered outside of Rosenstrasse 2-4 and announced that they would not leave until their husbands had been released.[1] Despite periodic threats of being shot on sight if the women did not disperse their protest, the women would scatter briefly, and then return to Rosenstrasse 2–4 to continue protesting.[15] Elsa Holzer, a protesting wife, later stated in an interview: "We expected that our husbands would return home and that they wouldn't be sent to the camps. We acted from the heart, and look what happened. If you had to calculate whether you would do any good by protesting, you wouldn't have gone. But we acted from the heart. We wanted to show that we weren't willing to let them go. What one is capable of doing when there is danger…

Conservative journalist Megyn Kelly, who has labelled trans people and drag queens "groomers", just went on telly and defended Epstein, saying he loved young teenagers not children and that's ok somehow. Do you get it yet? Women launched a MeToo movement against sexual assault by men, with lots of powerful men caught up in it. Shortly after that, conservatives and the social media they own were full of bs to redirect your attention onto a minority. If you were duped there's still time to wake up.

What interests me about these scenarios is not that they make fantastic, unrealistic promises (though I think they do), or that the instructions given by the user are couched in simple English (Tesler at least concedes that more structured languages may be needed), or that they embody such a grand vision (though the vision has much appeal). Rather, it is interesting that it is the programmer who is to control all of the computational magic. As Tesler says, programmers will endow computer-agents with their basic capabilities, even meeting such exciting challenges as pro gramming the computer to know what users will think before they think it! By comparison, notice the relationship of the end user to the computer; the end user is engaged in the most humdrum activities: making queries regarding a phone conversation, asking the computer to set up an appointment, requesting articles from the library (Tesler, 1991). Now contrast this vision of the computer-agent with what Alan Kay (in the same issue of Scientific American) envisions for educational software: children writing simulations of complex natural phenomena such as bi ological and physical systems to better understand how they function. Kay's colleagues have created a simulation construction kit for children so that they can build their own simulations. The construction kit lets children write simple scripts that model animal behavior. Using the kit they can change parameters to see how changing conditions affect the animal. This use of computers is an instance of what Tesler called the "personal implement": the children are doing nothing more or less than programming. With the kit, the children have tools that give them tremen dous scope for intellectual exploration and personal empowerment.

It is clearly being used a lot more now, probably in an effort at trans and intersex inclusion, but is absolutely dwarfed by "pregnant women", a phrase that has also been used a lot more over the same time period
Google ngram of uses of "pregnant people" - first use is 1814, usage trends upwards from the late 60s and then sharply from 2009 Google ngram for "pregnant women" vs "pregnant people", showing that "pregnant people" is hardly used at all in comparison, and "preganant women" has been trending upwards sharply since the 1960s

And then of course, Covid hits, which was a giant radicalizing moment. And at that point, we had lived through eight years of what was increasingly clearly a social revolution. Very clearly, companies are basically being hijacked to engines of social change, social revolution. The employee base is going feral. There were cases in the Trump era where multiple companies I know felt like they were hours away from full-blown violent riots on their own campuses by their own employees. he problem is the raw application of the power of the administrative state, the raw application of regulation and then the raw arbitrary enforcement and promulgation of regulation. It was increasing insertion into basic staffing. Government-mandated enforcement of D.E.I. in very destructive ways. Some of these agencies have their own in-house courts, which is bananas. Also just straight-up threats and bullying. Mark Zuckerberg just talked about this on “Rogan.” Direct phone calls from senior members of the administration. Screaming executives ordering them to do things. Just full-on “[Expletive] you. We own you. We control you. You’re going to do what we want or we’re going to destroy you.” Then they just came after crypto. Absolutely tried to kill us. They just ran this incredible terror campaign to try to kill crypto. Then they were ramping up a similar campaign to try to kill A.I. That’s really when we knew that we had to really get involved in politics. The crypto attack was so weird that we didn’t know what to make of it. We were just hoping it would pass, which it didn’t. But it was when they threatened to do the same thing to A.I. that we realized we had to get involved in politics. Then we were up against what looked like the absolutely terrifying prospect of a second term.
