Tibby flaw thought Smth abt how Tibby’s fatal flaw can be summarized by the fact that he doesn’t know how to believe in himself when he’s suffering. And smth abt how this leads him to hate his power because it requires suffering, and also how it causes him to have that moral compass that is so based off of avoiding direct and comprehensive pain. And smth about how that also causes him to have very hedonic tendencies and believe that others have those same hedonic tendencies, causing him to be detached from his own subtle suffering because if he’s suffering he’s breaking and if he’s broken he can’t be strong. And smth about how that also causes him to be detached from the subtle suffering of others because he can’t comprehend that people have to know better and be inspired by that better in order to want it. Like, he can’t see that there’s strength in weakness because his power removes that weakness and according to everyone around him it’s best to use it. And because of that, he can’t truly understand his power—not just the super ones but otherwise. And because of that, he can’t accept not just that the power is hurting him but that the strength is in understanding that, communicating that, and believing in yourself anyways. If his life was a balancing act and the radar were his safety net, Tibby would get up there, cry about how much it sucks, and never make the leap of faith.

And so Billy learned the negative things are to be feared, that people will come to you with problems and you should secretly hate them and their problems for that but help them anyways because they are all you have and that is all you can be good at, that he is bad for liking the feeling of helping all of them, that he must stay quiet about his wishes for others because those wishes are always that they don’t feel alright so he has an excuse to talk to them, that he is bad for liking the feeling of the bad things, that it’s not okay to feel not okay, that there is no strength in weakness.
