My husband does the best he can. He fought our toddler to sleep for an hour. She wouldn’t sleep. I went in and she was out in 5 minutes. Baby screams for 3 minutes like he’s being pinched. Dad tries to hold him. Nope. Mom comes to pick him up, instant smiles. He looked at dad like “Haha, SUCKER.”

I’ve gotten some impressive rewards in my life — including an Emmy — but nobody ever gave me a trophy for juggling five kids, a full-time job, extracurricular activities, church a activities and a full home remodel. Mama is tired.

Nothing says ‘parenting win’ like finally getting everyone to bed, only to realize the kitchen looks like a crime scene and the pile of laundry baskets now has its own zip code. Oh well, at least I take a moment to breath—-and the baby is awake. Neat.

Raising five kids with autism and ADHD is all fun and games until you realize you haven’t had five minutes of uninterrupted thought since 2016. But hey, at least I get to ‘reorganize’ the house every five minutes… and by ‘reorganize,’ I mean try not to drown in the chaos.

How my kids get lighter complected as we go, but somehow spicier in attitude and personality is beyond me.

I would normally take having newborns over toddlers any day of the week except I do take pride in the sass this little girl has in such a tiny package. It’s too funny.

Parenting isn’t for the weak, y’all. Our 2-year-old has been hitting some weird regression / milestone for weeks now. I’ve slept mostly 2-3 hours max per night since Christmas. This charade is getting REALLY old. Even my newest baby sleeps 6-7 hours at a time. But really, toddlers suck.

I wish we had six weeks of winter to begin with.
