They're looking for a "better" case. Not sure what would count as "better," especially with this Calvinball Court.

/yes, yes, I completely understand that it's early afternoon in Japan...this is like me explaining to my husband why the World Series started every night at 5 pm PT / 8 pm ET--so that it could be shown at a decent hour in Japan. He couldn't believe Ohtani and Yamamoto were *that* popular.

Why does Grand Sumo have to start so late??? Mountain Standard Time plus having to roll out of bed at 4 am is really cramping my style.

I cashiered (and worked in the toy department) at Target in 1978. As a cashier, I'd be within 10 feet of a customer all day long and I did not go through the day with a smile pasted on my face. This is disgusting and I hope some neurodivergent employee sues if they get fired!

Yes, and I'm glad my husband isn't on bsky because he would ask me, "how could you forget Lise Meitner?" He gave me a biography of her!

Before this year, I would have said it wouldn't. Now..."crime is legal," it seems. (I know it's not a crime, but the legal system is crazier than ever.)

Naw: your cats after you've slid down the stairs and landed in a heap at the bottom to avoid stepping on one of said cats. (I broke a toe. No gratefulness from the furballs.)

Yeah. The Winsome Sears campaign was so desperate for ca$$$$h they were sending texts to people everywhere...including to a Democrat living in Arizona (me). I was astonished.

She's going to have a tough time with that. Nancy Mace is a public figure. She really is her own worst enemy.

They ought to go read what happened to the "journalists" who whipped up Hutu animus against the Tutsi in Rwanda in 1994. Get one of their staffers to go prepare a PowerPoint on that, so they will know tha pushing lies eventually will get them in trouble.

If they're spilling $10K a day (and I'm assuming it's for just M-F), that's $2.5 million a year. How much is Bari Weiss getting *paid*?

Ummm, I suspect nobody consulted Claudia Sheinbaum (president of México). This is a violation of Mexican sovereignity.

Yeah. And I'm not opposed to church donations. My husband and I donate to a Methodist church. But they're open about their finances and I could look at their books if I asked. However, I know they're taking in less than $500K a year and paying for the building & various staff...no problem here.

I'm in favor of most churches having to file a Form 990 EZ. But I think megachurches need to file Form 990 long form. The megachurches in my neighborhood have taken well over$100 million in taxable property off the books, we need to know what they take in and how it gets spent.
