Bluesky renders 5 posts of my original 9 part thread but out of order (i.e. the 9th post appears after the 1st post). And 4 of my posts from the original thread are totally missing.
This technique has always been a bad hack to enable long posts. Not intuitive for users, posters, or devs.

Yes that is indeed the correct convention. Alas, if only it were that simple to render. For example, things start to get weird when over time people reply to replies in the thread and then others have the linear vs. threaded vs top replies first options selected when looking at that thread.
