I think this is the award KCD2 wins. I’ve played all the RPG nominations other than Monster Hunter.

As much as I love Obsidian, I don’t think Avowed or Outer Worlds 2 is award worthy… respectfully IMO of course.

I can’t wait to get back to KCD2 but I must say I have a soft spot for the Mafia games. Old Country was my favorite 7/10 of 2025. Now I see there’s an update with some new added trophies I might have to check out 🤘

I've been enjoying using backloggd to write my thoughts and DEFINITELY mentioned some of the frustrations with the climbing. All in all it was a solid game.

Avowed was the EXACT opposite. The traversal was a blast!

Level designs were horizontal as well as vertical. The game felt great to explore. Outer Worlds 2 feels so flat. I love the flaw system and I get lost in side content and convos, but Obsidian just doesn't feel the same as the used to...🥺

I found Avowed to be the better game. I think both stories are severely lacking. Like I said, my attachment to the Pillars of Eternity universe gives the Avowed story the slight edge, but the game mechanics, combat and traversal of Avowed IMO are all much better than Outer Worlds 2.

Not to be a console warrior, but they feel very “Xboxified.”

I was a huge fan of the Pillars of Eternity games, so Avowed had me hyped. Think it handles much better than Outer Worlds 2.

Although I’m enjoying their newer games fine, they’re just… fine.
