Think of which name you like more, and if you like a different name with it. I think that is a good combination. And when it comes to shortened/nicknames, I don’t hate Drew or Jimmy.

Lol… it’s just something I’ve thought a lot about. And for you, you won’t want their initials to be SOS, SCS, or ASS, etc. 😜

Max or Maxwell is one that I really like. Derek, Bryan, James… are safe names, but I understand why boy names are more difficult. You have to try harder to make first, middle, and last go together. And there may be personal associations with boy names that turn you off.

I’d say it gets easier, but it doesn’t. It’s always a feeling that you miss. Even/especially if you find someone else who steps into that role.
