I haven’t tried the two together but you may be on to something here. 😆

I just looked it up, it sounds very good. Added to my list! Thank you for the recommendation.

I’d say Garp is first for me but Owen Meany is high up there for sure

I can’t believe I miscounted here! I’ve read:

The World According to Garp
A Prayer for Owen Meany
Until I Find You
Last Night in Twisted River
Cider House Rules

So The Hotel New Hampshire is number 6. All excellent reads, though!

I will have to look that one up! I think Irving does a good job at building characters that I’m always sad I will have to leave when the book ends. And I enjoy that his stories can be a little bizarre. (This book has sort of a pet bear in it.) I like that kind of quirkiness.

Yes! Love A Prayer for Owen Meany!

That’s so cool!

I have! One of my favorites.

I have! I think about it whenever I pass by a softball field, definitely one that sticks with you. An excellent book.

Oo, I’ll have to check him out. Thank you for the recommendation!

I think about the first line of A Prayer for Owen Meany often. He certainly does a good job of drawing you in you right away.

Brr. I grew up in Michigan and do not miss the cold part of winter. 😂 But the snow was nice for a while.

(This is my 9th winter here and I stand by it being less rainy here than they’d have you believe. But maybe I should be keeping this to myself.)
