Having said that: I was pleasantly surprised to realize how many different iterations of murder mystery games/parties I've played, in gathering together these thoughts.

I've done boxed games, theater style games, privately hosted games, large scale games...even playtested a corporate game or two.

I've tried to be careful when talking about "new" trends (even though this has been around for 10 years) to experience more than one version of a thing before writing an article about it.

Because it's easy to describe a whole space based on one company (or person's) interpretation of the thing.
