Michael Hoey. A brilliant linguist and scholar, an unforgettable speaker (watching him pace around and worrying that he'd fall off the stage as he blazed through 200+ slides in 45 minutes), secretary of the Southport branch of CAMRA, and kind and thoughtful to everyone he met. I miss him.

Everything is garlic. I can no longer smell garlic. My eyes are still stinging so I assume the fumes are still present. But I honestly couldn't tell you whether I - or my hands, my clothes, or anything else in this flat - smells of garlic

We genuinely cannot smell garlic anymore and have no idea how much - or indeed, if - we smell of garlic.
