What actually happened is that Art was implementing the conservative vision of the university leadership, primarily focused on emphasizing job and career skills in the university's curriculum, when a sudden change to a different, more MAGA conservatism in the leadership...

People tend to see this debate as one between analytic and continental philosophy, or between clear, precise language and postmodernist obscurity, but it's hard for me to read Derrida's remarks on the whole thing and not think it was a clash between Americanness and Frenchness
