elephants do get cancer but it's rare. they have 20 copies of the TP53 gene (compared to humans’ two), which encodes the p53 protein, known as the “guardian of the genome.” This protein detects DNA damage and triggers cell death (apoptosis) in damaged cells before they become cancerous.

i've been studying NDEs since i had a short one from covid in march of 2020. very interesting stuff. wonder what other useful things if any we could get from them other than interesting stories/messages.
