last November. I’ll include a little video here with a snippet of @jbpritzker.bsky.social’s remarks to the crowd. Wish I’d recorded when he got us all to yell “We love America! We love Chicago!” as a counter to the allegations it would be a hate America rally.

In July, I planned to spend this weekend in Chicago because I wanted to attend Open House Chicago and see Sarah Millican. I booked a tower room at Pendry Chicago in the iconic Carbide and Carbon Building.

It was lovely weekend, and I’m glad that I was able to manage my Charlottesville 2017 PTSD

Yesterday I went and picked blueberries at a local farm. Tonight I made jammy fruit bars with them. Soooo good!

It is offensive that a week and a half after shuttering important, identity-based resource centers including the LGBTQ Resource Center and Women’s Resource Center that Georgia Tech would ask for money and use the word “pride” in their request.

Spent the weekend in San Francisco. Had a little time to go out and shoot some photos, too. Alt text will give more information on location.

I don’t think I’ve made this for six years, but glad to whip it up again. @americastestkitchen.com’s Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake! You start with a flourless chocolate cake as the base mousse, then make a chocolate mousse and finally a white chocolate mousse. A tiny slice is plenty!

I don’t think I’d call those buttons at the top of every page anything close to inconspicuous. Pretty sure the adoption reports don’t go to the author either, as I’ve never gotten one. (My book isn’t NC, but I can’t imagine they do anything different based on that.)

Today was a “bake your feelings” sort of day. A few weeks back, I went to help pick cider apples for The Cider Farm in Mineral Point. I was paid in apple brandy and cider but also got some French pastry apples. Today some of them went into the McDonald’s apple turnovers from BraveTart. Delicious!

North Dakota doesn’t have voter registration, so they don’t need to check. Many states have Election Day voter registration. So, yeah, if your state has registration and doesn’t have EDR, then check regularly and also advocate to join the states that have EDR to simplify things.

New semester is almost here (still a week and a half for us), but that meant I needed to visit Teasider and stock up on teas. I’m always amazed when the owner recognizes me even though I get in there like every six months. Need to try to go more often!

The US Embassy in London posted this on the bad place. The closing line is amazing.

The spot I see it in Madison is at this intersection. Most cyclists are on bike path on NW side of University. We get green bike signal when walk signal is on. They’ve had to put up a giant no right on red illuminated sign here to keep drivers from turning across bike lane on red when we have green.
