Slowly managing to encounter my friends again. If you see me follow you again randomly, it's because I moved instances and wasn't able to load my Mastodon profile export back in. I had to process the files myself and manually follow people. :(

i have given BookLore a true college try, but i am over it. it limits uploads to 100 MB each, which is a really abstract and annoying limit. many graphic novels exceed that. time to try going back to Kavita.

i am still proud of this sticker i did for Major League Hacking in 2022 while at Linode. It's the mascot, Linny, doing their best reenactment of my favorite version of the cover for the book 'Neuromancer.'

Shipped a logo tonight — a former Linodian is starting a pressure washing business. This was not my favorite from the lot, but, feels good to hook somebody up to start a small business. :)

The thing that really makes Minneapolis different, other than the fact that they straight up murdered someone, is that they've dropped all pretense that this is just about immigration. The state has declared war on its own people, or at least those people who live in cities.

i am playing a tabletop roleplaying game set in Middle Earth, and this is how I learn that MacOS's autocorrect disrespects Professor Tolkien by insisting on "Dwarfish" vs "Dwarvish"

TBT to that time that some genius anonymous designer in Pittsburgh convinced the entire world that their new minor league soccer team would be named "The Pittsburgh River-Wizards."

When it was revealed to be a hoax, and the real name the "Riverhounds", I […]

I am digging through my old work from Linode and Akamai to build a new portfolio, and I stumbled on this illustration I did to announce that Linode had one-click app deployments.

I wasn't sure what to do since I still have the flu and am too emotional to have gone to the vigil with the size of the turnout I saw. I am in Philadelphia, but I loved a Minnesotan once. I lived there briefly, and MLPS is in my blood.

So this was my protest […]

if anyone else remembers the 2000s-era Internet comedy troupe 'Olde English' (which 'Bojack Horseman' creator Bob-Waksberg and 'Adam Ruins Everything' star 'Adam Conover' back before he got on Ozempic...

One of my many hiatus projects has been to archive oldeenglish.org while it still exists. I […]

wow. gitea really *is* way better than Gogs. i didn't do enough research when i built my git server out... Gitea really has a lot of nice features.

i had some extra time tonight so i set up a Gitea instance in my homelab. i use cloudflare to serve a lot of my internet-facing services (i know, i know. the free tier is a great value, i'm sorry), but the free tier limits you to only 150mb total when transmitting a single HTTP request, meaning […]

The Mummers are as funny and as problematic as always, I see.

The 'Heist at the Museum' Comic band was awesome though. Loved the Pierre Robert tribute.

Happy new year, Fediverse! Thank you for being literally the only form of social media I can tolerate, despite having made my living off of it for a decade.

thinking about this song from a little indie band that released a few albums from within the dregs of christian contemporary music, "Anastasia."

It's such a great encapsulation of what it feels like as a young, shy boy to idolize a girl but never have the eggs to actually speak to her.

"Her […]

Cant get over the fact that we are so close to being able to emulate Sega Channel on real hardware. Props to the Sega Channel Revival project.

This is running on my Mega Everdrive on a Genesis 2.
