I like it. the rotation feels a lot simpler than other melee jobs while still being satisfying to execute. The effects and enshroud look really cool. the egress/regress skills are fun to play with in terms of boss mechanics and trying to keep your uptime.

Different ways you can place them:

1. Fill entire eye
2. Fill lower half for a "brimming" effect
3. Place on outer edges for a cuter effect

Nah, you picked up on the gist of it: the idea of a singular "meta". There's always optimal comps for specific fights and such - games just tend to be like that.

FFXIV made a conscious game design decision in doing this in an effort to make the game more casual friendly. it's one of the reasons I enjoy it so much. I don't have to worry about my build getting nerfed because it *doesn't matter*

I do feel bad for a lot of these people because most of them aren't even interested in doing the highest tier content, or just struggle with normal content not understanding that it's most important to learn mechanics above everything else

anyways i once made a guy ragequit an fc when he was complaining about ninja not being a playstyle he liked, and i recommended he try another job, but he wanted to be "meta"

explained to him to just play what he liked and there was no meta. he crashed out and left.

This guy nailed it in one go, really.

It's the easiest way to tell that they don't really understand the game
