Played my first ever official game of hockey NOT as a goalie this evening. Grateful to have a supportive team ('causr I'm pretty trash), and somehow I got an assist - we even won the game! Looking forward to the rest of the season with Team Yellow 💛

While I wouldn't recommend a 50k as therapy for a herniated lumbar disc, it worked out ok today at Wise Raven on an absolute stunner of an autumn day. Grateful to get dressed up like a dork and wander in the woods for a few sunny hours, even if my bits hurt

Got absolutely wrecked - rainy morning, lost all 4 games, blew out my back and got mercied out of the last one in the 2nd half - but had such fun at the first Sticks & Steins ball hockey tournament at KW Oktoberfest with our Canadian Beer League family! 🏒

..so also my dumb ass may have ended up in an all-out 100 yard sprint against a bloody OHL hockey player after the game this evening. He just edged me out by the end, but I do have a couple of decades on him and had just played an 80min game so I'm not gonna beat myself up about losing 😅

Sometimes you've just gotta bop out at 6pm to drive an hour and a quarter to a rink so that the first session of your favourite hockey org's shinny in a new city gets to start off with two goalies - even managed to get leg day and a run in first, and made it home by 11pm! 🏒 Thanks London BLHP!

Sometimes you've just gotta bop out at 6pm to drive an hour and a quarter to a rink so that the first session of your favourite hockey org's shinny in a new city gets to start off with two goalies - even managed to get leg day and a run in first, and made it home by 11pm! 🏒 Thanks London BLHP!
Had been in such a slump in net for months - was honestly starting to think about hanging up the pads. Played an open pickup game last night, though, and FINALLY had a decent showing! Kind of messed up my shoulder in the process, but still felt good to get to frustrate some shooters 🏒

I had seen a couple of berried females, but I thought they dropped their eggs...until I spotted this little shrimplet! It's impossibly small - like a tiny white eyelash - but my shrimp are finally starting to breed! 🦐

Happy Trails Racing Devil's Key was worth the 6 year wait! Numerous things have held up its debut since 2019, but the end result was spectacular and challenging and an absolutely indelible experience. 66.6km of Bruce Trail including the highest point and the Devil's Keyhole! #ultrarunning

As I struggled with a bunch of heavy bags of groceries (the day after running more than 12hrs on the Bruce Trail, including its highest point) I uttered the words "I may have over-estimated my capacity here.." and realized that phrase should be tattooed on my forehead bc it ALWAYS applies
