I think you'd like it! On Filmmaking. It's half notes on screenwriting and half on directing. Just tons of really practical, non-formulaic tips for writing drama.

The characters are looking, but not looking at. They don't notice anything. They don't move from one state to another. They just express one flat mood.

Did you read Alexander Mackendrick's book when you were a film student? He talks about the difference between action and activity in animation and drama - action having a beginning and an end, a kind of story to it. This Ai stuff just feels like activity. Nothing *happens*.

But isn't it bizarre that they don't even show the work of tracking a logo? They have someone doing it on a PNG in Photoshop.

It demonstrates even less skill than I would have said you'd need to clean up AI generated video for an advert. So weird!

To clarify, they're open about being an ai studio, but are trying to fool people that it's part of a normal animation workflow with wildly dishonest fabrications.

Even then, the way they show the logo being added on a single frame is absolutely not how you would track a logo onto a moving plane. Utterly bizarre, pointless fakery!

I found it not only charming but also informative, lively and engaging — this voice over embodies what it means to be a real person reading a script written by a human.

I have nothing against him, except his bit about how Geordies only have one vowel. Just wildly untrue and not a valid observation.

I agree with your point, but I don't think the fan edit of Aloy was ai generated, I think it was an ironic Photoshop taken seriously.

I saw it at Dulwich as well, and it was great. Several of the same pieces by Garwood are currently in the Ravilious exhibit at the Towner in Eastbourne.

I would say the general American "up" is most similar to the Scottish "up". Somewhere between Northern and Southern English.
