most likely culprits would be the V5 or V8 feedback signals, but could also be RP1 or its feedback

the only manual I was able to find was for the 2002 TDi version, whose wiring is slightly different, and uses a different ECU, which from what I can tell is very basic and does not provide any sort of diagnostics (P/N 23710-0F003, which is a Zexel 479651-9502 under the hood, see pics.)

I let my car battery die while I was working on it, so now I am charging it with an HP/Agilent 6653A 🙃

for christmas I got myself something kinda silly I have always wanted: a comically large spanner wrench

he already had his time with it, haha, it's on patreon. thankfully this was just a blown fuse, most likely due to a power outage. everything is back together now, but it's a PITA to do maintenance on my current setup 😅
