It is not a complete definition, but I think an Indie studio has to be scrappy. And I think some amount of defying the odds is involved as well. Indies need funding too, but typically it is more modest and then they go on to do a lot with that little. With Indies you definitely get more heart.

Ditto, except for us it was Mt. Lemmon. I Didn't get out of Tucson till I was 25, so I still get a little tingle in my tummy when I go past all the beautiful bodies of water and lush greenery that are everywhere in Seattle.
