And finally, the last of my @th3gadfly.bsky.social adopts for now, Jeanette the chameleon jester and Gertrude the patchwork cat.
From the combatant set, Jeanette is my group's tricky character. She and Gertrude are still in the early phases of coming up with moves and backstories, though for a jester, no backstory is the best backstory. Or maybe that's just cheap and I should have her come from a long line of jesters looking for new tricks and audiences. For now I like to imagine her using her chameleon camouflage to teleport around the arena throwing cards, balls, and other oddities at her opponents. Maybe I should incorporate her party favor like tail somehow? From the Halloween hack comes Gertrude. A little tailor cat with a massive pair of scissors. But don't worry, she also has a big needle to sew her victims back together so it's all good. Being a spooky Halloween killer I have several conflicting ideas for her moveset. Use her string to control puppets as a puppet character? A wild manic rush down that begs you to mash attack after attack. Or an oppressive fighting style that fills her opponent with dread... it's really hard to choose. On that note, her name was almost Aarne for a bit after the Aarne Thompson Uther Index used to catalog fairy tales before I decided on Gertrude instead.

And now for the mice and rat army of Patricia, Bootz, and Momohime!
Patricia came from Gad's winter adopts as a peppermint ballerina. This candy mouse is here to bring Christmas joy to all through her dances. Please don't eat her tail even if it is an actual candy cane. The second adopt from Gad's mouse/rat set and this one IS a fighter. Bootz is Chloe's girlfriend and resident tough girl of the city. While she may look silly being a rat in human sized boots, the sheer effort it took to properly walk in them has put her kicks on a totally different level. While I haven't given her a specific fighting game archetype, part of me wants to make her fight like a Sonic the Fighters character with their comical looking kicks. The 4th, and so far final, rodents adopt from Gad, Momohime is a mighty swordswoman who traveled to enter the QoQ tournament. Why? Does she seek fame? Worthy opponents? Revenge for her fallen dad? I... haven't actually gotten that far yet... either way, she doesn't win so for the time being it seems like she'll hang out around the city until it's time to head back home. As for her in universe fighting style... well... my idea for her is to make her like a Samurai Shodown character in KoF. She's strong and has a lot of reach with her sword, but those big swings take time to land. She's all about punishing those who don't respect her space. And if you're curious, Momohime means "Peach princess" and yes, I did name her that because of her big peach.

Just noticed I haven't posted any of my @th3gadfly.bsky.social adopts so let's get to work fixing that, Starting with Ling, Onyx, Chloe, and Odette.
My first adopt from Gad, Ling, was originally designed as a simple background character for the Queen of Qlaw comics. She's an elegant snake that hides her coiled tail under her dress, allowing her to be both incredibly elegant and incredibly slow at the same time. These two factors eventually led to her being given a grappler fighting style. After adopting Ling, Onyx was conceptualized to fit in as part of Ling's hypothetical QoQ team alongside a Boker Bat who sadly has yet to be finished. As a fan character, Onyx was explicitly designed as Ling's foil and (girl)friend. She's dark, gloomy, and is a long range fighter who uses spells instead of her physical strength. As a hyena, she's prone to laughing fits when distressed but with her bangs covering part of her eyes, she tends to accidentally intimidate others with seemingly stone faced laughing. Chloe was the first of several rodents I adopted from Gad and the first overall non combatant of the group. She is the loveable idiot of the set and another of Ling's friends... even if she lives inside Ling's walls and doesn't pay rent. She's just too cute to throw out onto the cold streets that she's somehow able to perfectly navigate around and get exactly what she wants. And hey, if good looks and luck don't work, she always has her girlfriend Bootz. Odette was a part of Gad's incredibly popular Snow Leopard set, her gimmick being her massive tail bigger than her. She serves as the obligatory maid for Ling and her fancy pants mansion. Her duties include cleaning, cooking, and having her tail used as a bed.

Zombea is an adopt I got from @starteas.bsky.social and really need to get to work with. I've already come up with a lot of friends for her, including another adopt I shared earlier, Cauline. With recent home events, I really feel like she's going to be really important amongst my cast.
Given the chance to be reborn as their ideal self via zombification, Zombea chose to become a girl and live the life that will finally make her happy...

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.
