You can defer Capital Gains Tax by reinvesting existing capital gains into EIS-eligible companies and deferring this tax until you sell your EIS shares.

UK tax benefits - things you might not know:
SEIS offers generous benefits for very early-stage start-ups: 50% income tax relief which means if you invest £5k you get £2.5k back, on investments up to a max of £100K per tax year.
EIS is 30% which means 30% of your investment back.
