what matters most to me is the essence of the relationship itself. this is why I’m also into even obviously made up bonds in fiction like a digimon and their partner or a swordian and their master and I actively refuse to put them into boxes or slap labels onto them

and I think it’s impossible to really intimately know how someone perceives the world, their world. so it is exactly why ”I want to know how you see the world” is like the greatest affirmation of existence you can give to someone

imo it’s deeper than liking someone’s personality and/or looks when they can change or even be changed at will. they are still on the external layers. but the filter through which you process the universe, it is the very core of how you exist and react to life itself.

I think to me personally complementary can feel like opposite but if you dig deeper they’re actually similar just go in different directions. if you get what I mean. that’s why they complete each other. and again when I say this I don’t necessarily mean in a strictly romantic or sexual way

some things just remain the same even when decades have passed

on the other hand, someone else who knows not personally what they want, but the direction they must go towards, for something greater than themself. what they *themself* really want, they don’t know, because their sense of self is that weak.

--on the surface they are baffled about why someone would choose to commit to one thing despite the freedom they have, deep inside they respect them for having that courage to commit to something that they don’t have. people almost always notice what they don’t have that others do after all.
