I enjoy playing Lidia in Tekken, but I suck at fighting games in general so I wouldn't say i play her with any finesse 😆

I had a Bardic VOD marathon this year so this doesn't surprise me lol.

If you see this post, show 4 of your favorite games!

11. Well supported one-shots: it always seems like Call of Cthulhu has new one shots and short campaigns being made for it. In fact most horror games are well suited to shorter adventures, although Call also seems to have some high quality long campaigns too.

10. RPG adaptation to TV: Two that spring to mind are Vaesen and VtM. I think Vaesen would make for a cool episodic, "monster of the week" type of series. I think I'd prefer a movie for VtM, but it would work well as a longer form show - we already know urban vampire drama is a winning formula!

7. Good form: Old School Essentials - it's gotta be. The content of the books is so easy to reference with its streamlined layout, and making it a boxed set with little handbooks for each main topic is such a neat idea. Masterfully done, Necrotic Gnome!

6. RPG that is easy to use: I've gotta go with Knave 2e - both for players & GMs. It boils down the B/X D&D-alikes into the fundamental parts. All the rules are concise and clear, and the random tables are great to have for any dungeon crawler game. Rolling to create new spells is particularly fun.

5. Great writing: Maybe a cliché choice, but I enjoyed reading through the background fiction of Vampire The Masquerade, particularly in the original. You can tell why it captured people's imaginations and shifted the course of RPG writing and design.

4. Great art: the Mythic Bastionland preview looks amazing so far, not only the images but the layout of the book as well. Really fits the ideas of the game. I backed for the physical book as well, so I'm looking forward to getting the final product and looking at the pretty pictures :D

2&3 are the same, so I'll cheat a bit: D&D 5e. While over the last few years I've been trying to learn more about other RPGs, my main groups remain 5e focused. Whenever I get the chance to GM now, I choose a different system to keep things fresh. But as a player, 5e is a fine game that I still enjoy

1. First RPG bought this year: I bought a few supplements etc. earlier, but I think the first full RPG I bought was by backing Swyvers in March. Really love the idea of this one: Classic D&D, except everyone's a thief (or worse)! It has a clear focus on stories like Lankhmar or Thief (the game).

This seems like fun! I'll try to keep up with it. I hope that by the time I can make a 2025 version, I would have played or run a few more of the games I'll mention below 😄
