Oh yes. People fought because they wanted their ship to be the only one, or because they hated a character, but no real moral discussion was ever made. When I was editor for a scanlation group I saw some other groups scanlating things that would have the whole Twitter on fire. We just ignored it.

As someone that got to experience fandom culture in the early 2000, I can agree. We did have ship wars and some of them were gruesome, but the overall vibe was much more positive and people generally minded their own business. It's a shame to see fandoms rot so badly nowadays. *Old woman compaints.*

Yeah exactly. It serves no real useful purpose in daily life. It actually makes things worse most of the time. Even a simple google search is worse than before.

AI should have remained contained in very technical fields. Because in my field I saw some nice applications for AI that does make the job of the professionals easier. But it is contained, checked and tailored on the scientific need of the application. Scientist has always the final say.

As someone that grew up and did the work when internet was not even available I am always baffled. These people are so lazy and uninspired.
