My drawing is ready to be transferred to a linoleum block for carving, yay! Finding the right balance for shading is always challenging for me with just black and white.

I had some health issues that I’m recovering from, so I haven’t posted in awhile. I’m feeling better today, so I’m easing back into making art. Here’s what I’m currently working on! It’s a digital drawing, but I’m approaching it from a traditional standpoint. #art #wip

Back study I did awhile ago of a friend and no, I won’t be finishing it haha but it was a cool experiment. The handful of times I’ve tried digital art, I end up approaching it like traditional. Somehow digital just hasn’t clicked with me, but I think I could learn more. #figureart #art

New art supplies day, how exciting! I haven’t gotten a set of speedy carve blocks like this before. I like this box it came in! I was just buying their largest sheet and cutting it down. I decided to get this set because this size will better suit my upcoming projects. #printmaker

I like this drawing better than what I had earlier. I added more shadows and changed the hair from a bun to just down. I’ll transfer this to linoleum for carving into a stamp. #art #printmaker

Still adding shadows and figuring out how I want to do the hair. I use Procreate to design my stamp first, and then I can transfer the design to linoleum for carving. #figureart #wip

I absolutely love the shimmer in this ink! It changes color depending on the light. It’s one of the chameleon inks from last year’s Diamine inkvent calendar. #printmaking #traditionalart #art

This was the first drawing I did with my Kuru Toga pencil earlier this year. I ended up really liking the pencil, so recently I got a second one with a squishy grip that’s more comfortable to hold. It’s really cool because it rotates the lead while you use it! #traditionalart #art

That’s awesome! I only have a Kakuno so far. It’s one of my favorite nibs, so nice and smooth. The face on it is a cute touch!

This is the first print from my latest series, Daybreak. I tried something new - I drew flowers in ink first, then did a light wash with water, then printed the figure on top. I cut card stock to make the mat. #art #traditionalart #linoprint
