It’s genuinely a complete fucking dystopia over here rn. Idk how I’m gonna survive 4 years of this. The repercussions will be felt for the rest of my life. We’re losing rights that will take a century to regain and they’re criminalizing anyone who protests or fights back

They’re also cutting snap, which my org relies on as civil servants bc we’re so underpaid.

They’re threatening to defund any hospital that treat queer patients too. My friend from Texas is fleeing the state bc they’re enacting a bill that outright bans tran people from healthcare, renting, or working in the state at all. And the Supreme Court is expected to overturn gay marriage too

Not allowed to be featured on my jobs website bc I’m considered “too dei” as a queer woman to be in compliance with exec orders, our funding to do our work is constantly getting frozen, and now they’re gonna deforest our national parks so they can turn them into drilling sites.

Fandom is a hobby. It’s for fun. If it’s affecting you that considerably please take a step back. You will be better for it and at least in my experience, you will come back being able to enjoy it so much more.

And it genuinely has changed my perspective and the way I interact with fandom content considerably. I don’t take discourse and drama seriously bc to me, knowing how bad it got in the past, it’s simply not fucking worth it. It LITERALLY does not matter that much.

I ended up forcing myself to delete my public accounts and stayed on a private one, and cut down my screen time considerably for at least 6 months. Doing that alongside finally being free from school stress and going to therapy, I made a significant improvement and in a year I came back.
