This is possibly the last recording of the Lost Quintet (a club recording dated as December is still up for debate); in the new year Miles would add Airto Moreira to the band, followed soon after by Wayne Shorter's departure after over five years.

There are 18 minutes of TV footage from the gig which mostly show a frustrated looking Miles skulking in the shadows, and a large portion of it is given to a fascinating dialogue between Jarrett and Mtume that leaves Henderson shaking his head.
