Just learned that our child care cost is going up 15% in 2026!

At Michigan's minimum wage ($12.48/hour), your income from 5 hours of every day goes to paying for daycare for 1 child.

Having children is becoming a privilege of the rich

Ran 20km on the trails and then took a very brief dip.

A team in China has developed a system called AI-Newton that, after being fed experimental data, can autonomously ‘discover’ key physics principles, such as Newton’s second law.

A tool called AI-Newton can derive scientific laws from raw data, but is some way from developing human-like reasoning.

This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"

China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.

It was a cloudy day on Lake Superior.

We ran 19km through rain and sleet. I was really tired by the end. Took some grit to get through this one.

Our local, small town schools offered free Covid and Flu shots to students today!

Local pharmacies won't give shots to kids, but luckily Michigan stepped up to protect school-age kids.
