Got the big consignment sale for summer items coming up and it's time for my kid's last favorite thing. The Fashion Show is when we try on summer items to see what doesn't fit anymore and may be sold and replaced. I firmly believe this can be done in a half hour. The kids take 1hr+. Let's see!

Today I rebuilt a kitchen drawer that the bottom was coming off of some. It was a nice satisfying project and made me feel handy.

Walgreens said my wife's prescription wouldn't be ready until Monday. When I asked if there was a nearby Walgreens that could do it today, it turned out that the original pharmacy could in fact do it today and it would be ready shortly. Why the fuckery?

Black eyed peas, greens. Mirepoix, and kielbasa. There's a good bit of paprika running through, both hot and sweet. Served with Kenji's cornbread.

First day hike at Cedar Hill State Park. A family favorite, with trails through the grasslands and up the hills into woods overlooking the lake. It's a beautiful day for it.

Every now and again in the midst of making too many cookies (because I didn't plan well) I get an idea and feel compelled to follow through. So, toffee apple oatmeal cookie. Just the recipe from the Quaker box top, - 1c raisin, +1c chopped Heath, +1c dried apple.

There's a fast food place I go and while it's not amazing, the burger always comes hot, with cold fixings, and a warm bun that's been crisped lightly. And their sides are a little under seasoned, but always crispy and quite hot. That's like 90% of getting it right.
