Is there any evidence it was actually practiced? Or sort of a post-exilic idea to represent an idealized past?

I mean a commercial business and a federal government are...very different things? Like "hey we should run these two things very differently" seems fairly obvious, no?

at least they color coordinated? Sigh.

Reinterpretation of biblical stories is one of the great parts of the Bible and why people find meaning thousands of years later - so sure, go for it!
Obviously this story in particular isn't "literal" in the slightest bit, so I think it's great to find meaning like this.

Also would be a good candidate for bad Biblical takes tbh (does that exist?)

Ya different games are for different people, all good, glad you enjoyed it!
Also in fairness, I'm a bit of a classic Azul specialist, it's probably my most played game so I'm partial to it. (Just over 900 plays lol)

Interesting, I felt just the opposite, that the added randomness of drawing board tiles took away the precision and calculation. felt that regular Azul (which is really a 2p game) was far superior and this one just added random bloat. There is a lot of strategy already in Azul...

Yea I meant he really reposted that. I’m certainly not going to truth social lol

wait this is real?

A few yea. There's a UCC church really close I should chech out too (unsurprisingly, that church has a presence at like every single community event too)
February 23, 2025 at 2:52 PM
I did that a few years back (after they sent a note out to get everyone to commit to being anti-trans and pro-eternal torment).
Havent found a good place yet, but have not really been looking either. I miss teaching the adult SS class tho :(

The person wanting to play solo should absolutely have a seat at the game. but needs to scoot over. I don't know the context of the post, something like 4 v 6 is probably not the use case he's talking about here.
February 23, 2025 at 2:20 PM
Sounds like he's saying if there's one copy of a game, and 4 people want to play, then someone can't hold it for a solo play?
I agree with Tom here. Middle of the day at a public space using a shared resource? Then yea, share.

I mean, given when the story is set - if the various hill tribes *hadnt* coalesced into a kingdom, they would have been swallowed up completely like the other regions, and wouldn’t have had a lasting impact deep past the Iron Age and throughout

I didn't follow her, is there a cliffs notes version? Like who is she really?

Does NY not have a mechanism to impeach/remove a corrupt mayor?

A ban on trading individual stocks seems like an easy win - I mean if they want to be in the stock market, no reason they can't just jump on an Index fund. I wouldn't care about that.

AOC needs to be front and center. There's no one, outside of perhaps Pete B, who is even close to her level as far as understanding what people want.

I'm not exactly sure why. Was it that crowd showering him with praise and adoration that triggered his narcissism and made him dive deeper? Maybe it was there all along - but I doubt it's that simple, we've seen so many, many others change once they jumped into the far right pool.
