even a board game or something, i would buy a malazan-edition version of monopoly, haha. i'm guessing that unless it has the power of a tv show or movie behind it, most book franchises don't get much merchandise. or maybe the authors are more protective of their rights.

makes me wish there was an official set of malazan cards. heck, i wish there was any kind of malazan merchandise.

definitely the only time i've heard saxophone and didn't immediately dislike the song. not sure why it works, i think they keep it subtle and it blends into the rhythm of the song without being overbearing. i got to see them in concert a few weeks ago and the sax player plays it live onstage too.

my mother still quotes the "fork in the road" joke, she thinks its one of the funniest movie jokes ever. my favorite muppet joke is from muppet caper when rowlf barks at the dogs and says "it helps to speak a second language." so many great jokes in all the muppet movies.

normally i strongly dislike the saxophone, but there's a few rivers of nihil songs where it almost works.
