Thousands gathered in Belfast, Northern Ireland this month to commemorate the 1916 Easter Rising—the historic rebellion against British rule in Ireland. The annual remembrance was also interwoven with Palestinian solidarity, with many recognizing the parallels of occupation and land theft.

Thousands gathered across the world on April 25 for the Global Day of Action for Gaza. These photos were taken of the International Solidarity Mural in Belfast, where memorials honouring those who died fighting for Irish liberation can also be seen flying Palestinian flags throughout the city.

The encampment of around eight tents and a dozen people lasted until this morning when police arrived.
