The whole 7 years that Darren White was Sheriff of our county, he used the Middle Ages email address that he gave himself:

[email protected]

But we've tried the Darren White Era once, Burque. It was medieval enough the first time.

We've gotten used to our north San Mateo Tower being boarded up. But it's about to be brought back to life. This is north San Mateo Tower a couple years from now, filled with new homes, including 44 affordable apartments. That's leadership. That's Mayor Tim Keller's leadership.

In the first 2 years Darren White was Sheriff of our county, we suffered the worst serial killing in the history of our state. Never before in American history had a serial killer laid so many victims near each other in an open and accessible space. Darren never noticed 11 women had gone missing.

Analyzed the main policy plank of Darren White - his Day One promise - to decamp all the homeless within 24 hours - and the medical research could not be more clear: Week One of Darren White in office would be a mass-casualty event. My Substack post:

Christopher Torres was a 27-year-old with schizophrenia, a young man who’d struggled and tried to build a life. He was in his own backyard in pajamas when officers burst over the fence and killed him. Darren White oversaw APD then—has he ever acknowledged how wrong this was?
November 19, 2025 at 8:31 PM
A judge found Christopher Torres was unarmed, pinned face-down, terrified, and shot three times in the back without cause. Has Darren White ever faced what happened and understood the need to reform police culture so unjustified APD shootings remain as rare as they are today?

The strongest case against Darren White has been made by Darren White himself. In his March 7, 2024 tweet. We should not elect a Republican as Mayor because the Republican Party is too Trump-worshiping and too void of principles to be trusted w/ governing a major American city.
November 19, 2025 at 4:32 PM
Did Darren White go after meth dealers when he headed APD? Nope. He had our police do the reverse sting: Pose as a drug dealer, sell $10 of meth to a homeless, mentally ill, or addicted person, then immediately arrest them for felony possession. Hunted minnows instead of sharks.

The River of Lights 2021: 7-year-old Pronoy is walking when a drunk plows his ATV thru a red light & ends the boy's life. The driver flees but now sits in prison for 27 years. How did we get justice for Pronoy? The Shield. The Shield works & we should let @mayorkeller.bsky.social finish it.

Endorsements of public leaders can be nice, but in 2025, there's only one leader's endorsement that has mattered to me in this Mayor's race, and it means everything. The great iconic labor and civil rights leader Dolores Huerta: the world's Number One advocate for Tim Keller & his reelection.

"reckless accusations that police officers murdered innocent people" - Erin Thompson for Darren White

A majority of APD fatal shootings were unjustified - DoJ, 2014

"Just because he doesn't like his own biography doesn't mean he can rewrite it" - Neri Holguin for Tim Keller

In 2004, when Darren White as our Sheriff was managing our city-county jail, a dozen guards formed "a welcoming party" for 3 arriving prisoners - who'd done nothing wrong yet at the jail - and beat up the 3 shackled men. The only whistleblower was fired. Darren White did nothing to reform the jail.

Remembering Iraq War veteran Kenneth Ellis, who lost his life in 2010 during a PTSD episode, when he was fatally shot by police. Today, thanks to #ABQ having America's best Community Safety response system, a veteran in crisis gets the help he or she needs from an ACS staffer.

Debate only a half-hour. (Lame, KOB TV.) But @mayorkeller.bsky.social contrasted his strong, hardworking leadership and effective approaches like ACS and Gateway to
Darren White's legacy of failure, esp. all those unjustified police shootings that cost #ABQ taxpayers $130 million. Tim Keller wins!

Darren White is back, taking on our Reform Mayor
Tim Keller here in Albuquerque. Remember the Darren White Era of policing? How he kicked off 5 years of unjustified use of force, shootings and killings? And how we responded in '14 w/ the 2nd largest protest in #ABQ - 1,000 strong - since the 1960s:
November 11, 2025 at 3:04 PM
33%: Uses of force by our police that were unjustified when Darren White led APD.

3.7%: Uses of force that are out of policy with the leadership of
@mayorkeller.bsky.social.

Tim Keller has us down to about 25 a year. Darren White would take us back up to about 250 a year.

Our choice, Burque.
November 10, 2025 at 3:37 PM
When Darren White led APD, 33% of force used by police was unjustified. @mayorkeller.bsky.social has brought out-of-policy use of force down to 3.7%. White promises to unshackle the police again. Next 4 years, that'd be 1,000 unjustified uses of police force instead of 100. Choose wisely, Burque.

Jeff Tucker, the dipshit opinion writer at the @abqjournal.bsky.social, is actually asserting that the legacy of @mayorkeller.bsky.social can be found in Coronado Park. Yes, Jeff, you're right for once. Mayor Keller closed Coronado Park almost 40 months ago, and this is what he's turning it into:

"It was an all-out riot," NM Public Safety Secy & chair of the state corrections council Darren White said in 1999. The 2nd largest prison riot in NM history. Super-violent prisoners were sent to a medium-security (corporate) prison. And prisoners murdered guard Ralph Garcia. White for Mayor? Nope.
October 25, 2025 at 7:41 PM
The U.S. Dept. of Justice, 2024: APD is in full compliance with constitutional policing.

@mayorkeller.bsky.social: It was an "arduous journey" but our police culture is "completely different" and "the change is real . . . Now is no time for turning back." It's time for "seeing it through."
October 25, 2025 at 9:09 AM
If Darren White wins: A tense city lurching from crackdown to crackdown, with aggressive and cruel and militarized law enforcement and overcrowded jails.

If Keller wins: A collaborative community continuing its comeback - optimistic, forward-looking, growth-oriented, and proud.

It's now clearly obvious that Abigail Spanberger will be Governor of Virginia. And she should and probably will make the short list for Dem VP in 2028 (along with Sen. Elyssa Slotkin and, if she makes it, Gov. Mikie Sherill of N.). Three exceptional leaders are emerging onto the national scene.

"It was horrible" how Biden was "treated poorly by members of his own party." - Karine Jean-Pierre

Much more horrible for the 2 out of 3 Dems who didn't want him to run for re-election & the 3 out of 5 Dems in every poll who said he could not do the job mentally for 4 more years.
