I do love doing these, but at least one community question will inevitably lead me to share something we didn’t intend to discuss publicly yet 🫣

A perfect example of how some corners of the FOSS world have lost the plot.

Supporting open-source doesn’t mean you’re entitled to everything we ever build, forever, for free.

When we create something new, we get to decide how it’s shared.

Calling a licence change a “rug pull” is moronic.

The code isn’t taken away, and previous versions remain under their original terms.

Whenever a developer uses that phrase, it’s hard not to roll my eyes.

Waiting to fly home from my vacation, and have had an absolutely lovely time in Australia.

I hope it won’t be too long before I can pop back.

Incredible achievement when you consider that we don’t have anyone focused on marketing.

This growth is primarily driven by word of mouth.

Turns out that creating a great solution beats any amount of ad-spend, conference stands or flashy videos.
For years, .NET developers have been searching for the perfect UI solution.

Now, the numbers tell the story:
🔥 27k+ GitHub stars - more than any other .NET UI framework
📈 29.81% growth this quarter

Avalonia is the future of .NET UI 🚀

Yesterday I started using Latex for some documents. It’s been ~18 years since I last used it 💀

I was surprised that the majority of the team had never used it. It’s an incredibly powerful way to author documents.

I would have figured that developers would love it.

Slacks idea of uptime and mine are very different.

- I couldn't search messages
- I couldn't send messages
- I couldn't sign in on my laptop
- All our integrations stopped working

They don't consider that an outage....🤷‍♂️

Improving our website for Accelerate!

Updating the 'getting started' page to direct folks to the best development experience.

The completely unbiased update ranks the development options from 'enlightened' to 'feral' 🤣

We absolutely adore @jetbrains.com Rider, and it might be rather obvious ❤️

I was playing with Mac Catalyst recently (using .NET technologies) to see how it performed compared to Avalonia in the classic LOLs per second test.

Holy hell, it's terrible.

Avalonia performed 6x better in average LOLs per second than one of the Mac Calayst-based solutions. 👀

I had a dream that I had a Vision Pro. Woke up thinking “I should buy a Vision Pro”.

I went and read some of the experiences of those that bought them. I think I’ll save the money 👀

So many report that they don’t use it anymore!

The more I use Blazor, the less I like it.

This evening's regret stems from the difficulty of saving a cookie. It works locally but fails in production.

I find myself using Javascript more and more, defeating the point of Blazor entirely.

The worst thing about the Wicked movie is that it's been almost a week, and I can't get the songs out of my head.

I'm reviewing CVs as we're hiring for next year.

I love it when candidates share personal details in their CVs.

I just saw one mention being married with a daughter. It won't affect their chances, but it adds a human touch that makes their application more memorable.

Yesterday I went to a lovely Japanese restaurant in Milan, that had incredible theming.

Had to wait two months to get a reservation, but was totally worth it.

I’ve just submitted my first refund request on Steam, and it’s for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

The issues with MSFS 2024 make it unplayable. Genuinely can’t believe that it’s been released in the state it’s in.

Tried the simulator at the Ferrari museum.

It was super easy to slide into the seat, but my goodness was it difficult to get out 😂
