I wonder if people who pick up collecting something or other as a hobby are ever bewildered that they find themselves doing it. Like, “What’s there to love about these bobbleheads? This is stupid! …But that’s an excellent price on that one.”

I’m not sure, but it seems that, if you have young kids, having neighbours with young kids has a stronger impact on your happiness than having a better than average community centre or school.

I have a hunch that the time needed to define a new project and set its scope could be cut in half if all of the initial discussion was over the phone instead of by email.

Just a hunch though.
