It took 5 MONTHS, allowing for breaks, to write this 38-minute symphony. We will have just 5 HOURS, allowing for breaks, to record it, sight-unseen by the musicians! I'm relying on the @londonsymphony.bsky.social legendary sight-reading to make it happen! 🥳🎶 @Republic_Media

Old files! I don’t even remember writing this to Art Garfunkel. (1987). But I do remember fighting hard to get the film producers to take the song seriously. Even then, getting radio to play it was like pulling teeth. They said it was “too slow”. Nothing changes!

Good news today! Number 10 on the Heritage Chart this week, with Soldier's Song. I wrote it for the `Hollies in 1980, and this is my version, with the LPO. Thanks to Mike Read and all who voted.

Just passed Kenny Everett’s flat in Lexington Gardens. I was at the blue plaque ceremony a few years ago. Much missed, a good friend and a unique genius. 😢

Just a quick shout to say that the GOLDEN VINYL pressing of the Wombles’ “Golden” album, (made for record store day) is now released to all retailers and you can get it anywhere! Don’t all rush at once! On the other hand… 😉
