if these supposedly big changes went through with so little fanfare, remove remaining key barriers to missing middle housing.
1. setbacks are next limiting factor for infill. you gotta get those reduced
2. entire council must push province for single stair

Of course easier said than done with our cities segregated development patterns...
December 8, 2025 at 6:22 PM
Wrong way to look at it. The purpose of the public isn't to support transit. The purpose of transit is to support the public. Transit should have adapted to new usage patterns. Less getting to the office downtown more on general getting around town

The world is full of cities that took the easy way to density and now are suffering the consequences of these short cited decisions
December 8, 2025 at 6:09 PM
I wish for Feds to focus on development on underused sites with office buildings etc, instead of green sites. We need to increase city density, but as we do, green areas will become more and more critical. Guidelines for access to green spaces need to be made strict requirements

You may be holding the Nobel peace prize in a bit too high regard. Reminder the war criminal Henry Kissinger (responsible for anywhere from 100,000s to millions of deaths) got one.

1. 100% w u. I do want to see something different from the city... But
2. It's critical your messages preempt the "money doesn't grow on trees" attacks that will play very well with the suburban crowd. Where will the money come from. Deprioritize something else? Raise taxes etc. full platform pls

There's been some sort of bus running on this route for multiple decades. Trolley buses now have a range of 10s of kms running on battery.
The $1B city spent on charging infra at depot could have been used to build trolley lines

Also, trolley buses are the way to go. The weight, environmental and social impact of batteries of electric buses tough to justify
November 20, 2025 at 9:07 PM
Isn't the issue electric bus delivery is slow?
Also, there's an argument to be made that the cost of 2 diesel buses = 1 electric bus. Better to have 100 people on two diesel buses then 50 on an electric bus and rest in cars

The only solution now is to go to the suburbs and explain to people why they need to vote out their councillor + mayor in 26

Very nice. are these types of bike racks common? I.e. the type that holds the bike by the wheel.

supply deficit keeps growing ... unaffordability in Ottawa keeps growing. pls think long and hard about foundational changes you'd push for as mayor to increase supply. how to spur more of right type of housing in right places (hint: even small concisions to nimbys aren't it)
