The BBC can't win here. The statements made by the chap in his speech may well in many people's minds be true, but they are also overtly political. The BBC is obliged to be politically impartial, and so it has no choice but to censor.

Europeans are shocked at how easily and quickly the US has slid into infamy.
I know here in Britain people are deeply saddened, but also furious at the betrayal, by rewarding a proper murderous demagogue who invaded a sovereign state on the border of Europe. America is rewarding putin.

I have spoken to Reform voters, but they are mostly just people fed up with 'the boats' rather than screaming fascists. A little bit of well-reasoned argument can dissuade them from voting reform. I just don't think that calling people racists helps tbh. In fact it's counterproductive I think.

I don't think we'll end up with a Reform government. Speaking to other English people, as I do every day, I don't encounter far right views, only concern over undocumented immigration - 'the boats'. The overwhelming majority understand the need for immigration and have no issue with it.
