Le Portrait de Petit Cossette

great OVA series, oozing atmosphere in every single moment of its runtime, with gorgeous direction and music

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

real fun movie, didn't really scare me but I enjoyed it as a classic '80s sorta adventure film. also weird finally watching the thing the Freddie Kueger rhyme I used to find funny to sing as a kid comes from, 2+ decades later lol

Peeping Tom (1960)

beautifully staged film, not super scary but great watch still
November 3, 2025 at 12:59 PM
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

sometimes kinda silly, but it's so thoroughly dedicated to its tone that it somehow still works great. awesome watch

Scanners

incredibly suffocating atmosphere and sound design, still sorting out if I liked it or not but that almost feels besides the point, good film

Jaws

it's Jaws! that super famous film! anyway, somehow never saw this before, not my fave but man the delivery on "Smile, you son of a bitch!" made it worth it
November 3, 2025 at 12:29 PM
The Fly (1986)

alternated between wanting to throw up and wanting to sob, incredible film

(also realized while watching this that the Treehouse of Horror parodied the original '50s film instead, hehe)

The Thing (1982)

see that poster? see that tag line? yeah, that's not hyperbole, this film fucking kicks ass. it's awesome and a new fave of mine
November 3, 2025 at 12:04 PM
The Blair Witch Project

funnier film than I expected, though that second half is real scary
November 3, 2025 at 11:57 AM
Carrie (1976)

wow this poster is terrible... anyway, it was an effective tragedy, and man, that prom scene
November 3, 2025 at 11:49 AM
Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Cloud

not really a horror film, but it is a great thriller from a director that's great at them
