Okay I’d like more info about this stat. I need to know what percentage house pets are in this graph too! 😻

I had to look this up to make sure I gave correct info since I wasn’t adequately informed on Missouri compared to my own state. I could verify that you’re correct! I didn’t know they were doing that. Missouri does have interesting taxes-I even lived there so I feel like I should have known this 🤣

I’m daydreaming of biscuits and gravy, cheesy hashbrowns, buttery grits, chicken fried steak, fried eggs, buttered toast, and bacon.

The RCPP and CSP and CRP are done through usda NRCS and FSA offices. SWCD is not involved in those. Wait for RCPP the SWCD sometimes does house the maintenance agreements and approve the application.

For US those $ come from state county & fed. Theyre cost share programs the landowner pays 25-50% for most types of projects. Some 0%. The cost is “shared” between the funder and the land owner. I work for a SWCD but I have to clairfy my presence as a meme acc doesn’t rep my particular district.

Last comment! They fund raise through field days and doing some sales. Some districts do flag sales, cover crops, renting equipment, it depends on the district some do more creative efforts but the CA will be more happy to take ideas. Meetings are public so you can go and ask questions too!

Cover crops are run through state and county programs (Illinois, MO, MN, IA residents benefit from a group called practical farmers of Iowa) that stacks with state cost share. The DNR helps fund watershed projects. The county does urban and ag funding for projects. SWCD also gets help from usda NRCS

I don’t think they can do lottery (need special licenses) a lot of SWCDS get the funding to run their business from Conservation Districts of their State not the same as a SWCD but the commissioners do meet with CDI (Illinois). They’re also given a small (2-3k) a year for like dues to CDI & NACD

Oh friend it won’t let me DM you. They can’t collect taxes as they are a local government. They’re funded through grants given at the state and sometimes federal level. I can answer far more detailed and more questions if you can DM me :) I can give you a break down of programs and how they’re fund
